III 1/48 Block Model is a detailed set of one of World War II's most iconic bombers, known for its durability, heavy payload, and crucial role in the Allied bombing campaign. This version is marked with the insignia of the Polish 300th Bomber Squadron "Ziemia Mazowiecka", honoring the squadron's contributions to the war. The model features movable propellers, a retractable landing gear, an opening bomb bay with block bombs, a detailed interior, and a Polish pilot figure. The real Avro Lancaster evolved from the troubled Avro Manchester and became the RAF's primary heavy bomber, participating in major missions such as Operation Gomorrah, the bombings of Hamburg and Dresden, and the famous Dambuster raids of Operation Chastise. The 300th Bomber Squadron, composed of Polish airmen, played a significant role in these operations, symbolizing Poland's dedication to the Allied war effort. This Cobi model offers history and aviation enthusiasts a chance to build a tribute to one of the most significant aircraft and squadrons of World War II.

About the Lancaster B Mk. III

300th Bomber Squadron

The 300th Bomber Squadron "Ziemia Mazowiecka" was a Polish unit within the Royal Air Force (RAF) during World War II, formed in July 1940 by airmen who had escaped Nazi-occupied Poland. Initially flying Fairey Battle bombers, the squadron later transitioned to the Vickers Wellington and Avro Lancaster, playing a key role in the RAF's strategic bombing campaigns. Operating under Bomber Command, it took part in major night raids on German industrial centers and military targets, including Hamburg, Dresden, and Dambuster-style missions. The squadron earned a reputation for bravery and skill, despite suffering heavy losses. Named after the Mazovian region of Poland, it symbolized the Polish commitment to the Allied war effort. After the war, many squadron members faced exile, as Soviet control over Poland made returning home dangerous. Officially disbanded in 1946, the squadron remains a powerful symbol of Polish resistance, sacrifice, and contribution to the Allied victory.

Features:

1595 high-quality blocks

Blocks with prints do not scratch or smear and do not fade during play or under the influence of temperature

Aesthetic display stand for the model

100% prints, no stickers

Includes:

(1) Avro Lancaster B.
