The huge long -haul aircraft Boeing 747 completed its maiden flight on February 9, 1969. The Jumbo-Jet had Pratt & Whitney engines with 19,731 KP thrust, a starting weight of over 300,000 kg and was able to transport 385 passengers over a distance of 9,136 km. The 747 was planned by Boeing as a series, the 747-100 followed further variants with increased capacities.
