1/48 A-4M Skyhawk

The Skyhawk's final single-seat model, the A-4M, was developed for the U.S. Marine Corps.

Around the time the A-7 Corsair II began to be deployed to the U.S. Navy, and the A-7 became the main carrier-based attack aircraft, the U.S. Marine Corps adopted the A-4M as a land-based attack aircraft instead of the A-7.

The M model featured a J52-P-408A engine, along with a larger intake. The vertical stabilizer outline was also changed to a more angular shape. A larger windshield was fitted. The aircraft also underwent a major overhaul of its electronics, including a fin-tip radome on the vertical stabilizer, an LST in the nose, and ALR-54/ALQ-126 air purifiers in the nose and tail.
