The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is an improved successor to the F/A-18C/D.
To extend its range, it features increased fuel tank capacity.
The fuselage has been extended by 86 cm, and fuel is also stored in the vertical stabilizer.
The resulting weight increase is compensated for by a more powerful engine, and the air intakes have been enlarged to accommodate the engine change.
The angular, parallelogram-shaped intakes are one of the aircraft's distinctive visual features. While the airframe structure has been significantly modified, including the lengthening of the wings and increased wing area to increase lift, other aspects remain largely the same as the F/A-18C/D, with only some electronics and power supply systems being updated.
The kit features a parts configuration that offers a moderate level of challenge during assembly, along with sharp panel line engraving.
Accessories for the underside of the main wings include four drop tanks, two AIM-9X missiles, two AMRAAM missiles, and a target pod.
