1/72 KYUSHU J7W1 Shinden

The Shinden made its maiden flight on August 3, 1945, at Mushiroda Airfield in Kyushu, towards the end of World War II, the Pacific War.

This aircraft has a very unusual shape, with the main wings positioned at the rear and the smaller wings, usually called horizontal stabilizers, positioned at the front.
The engines are located at the rear of the fuselage, and the propellers are mounted facing backward.

This design, known as canard wing, eliminates the propeller at the nose, allowing for the mounting of machine guns in the center of the fuselage, thus increasing accuracy. Furthermore, the aircraft's lines are smoother, enabling higher speeds.
 

The Shinden was designed to fight long-range bombers such as the B-29 , but
the war ended on August 15th, and it never saw any action.
