The P-40 series served as the main fighter aircraft for both the U.S. Army Air Forces and the Allied forces,
playing a vital role on every battlefield of World War II.
While not top-tier in terms of performance, its ease of mass production,
ease of handling, and robustness made it highly effective in ground attack and anti-bomber combat.
The P-40N was the
final production model of the P-40 series, with approximately 5,200 units produced, representing the largest number in the series.
These aircraft were supplied to the air forces of Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada,
as well as the Soviet Union.
The P-40N-5-CU was the first model to feature a new canopy that significantly improved rearward visibility.
