The Tiger II developed in 1943, also unofficially referred to as the royal tiger, was produced in series at Henschel from 1944. The Königtiger united the demands for armored protection and firepower in an outstanding manner. The front armor of up to 150 mm thickness could not be killed by any floors from the on -board cannons of opposing fighting tanks. The tubs were up to 80 mm strongly armored. Despite several massive bombing by the Allies on the Henschel plant in Kassel - including the prototypes and 50 vehicles equipped with Porschet tower - a total of 492 Tiger II were delivered to the troop. However, not all of the front associations did not reach this. A large number of Tiger II was lost due to drive problems due to drive problems from the high total weight or simply due to a lack of fuel.
