The Jaguar was the first tactical support fighter aircraft jointly developed by Britain and France in 1965, with five variants developed, including both single-seat and two-seat versions.

In particular, the Royal Air Force's GR Mk.1 boasts an excellent navigation/attack system,
equipped with a digital computer and laser rangefinding target detection system,
enabling supersonic low-altitude incursions. The French Air Force's A model also saw improved capabilities with the addition of a laser rangefinder in the nose of aircraft
from the 80th aircraft onward.
